NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATION ALTERNATIVE KAKANJ

	Young people will monitor activities of municipal councils and provide public reports
	Local monitoring teams, consisting of young people, will monitor activities of municipal councils in Busovača, Kakanj, Travnik and Zavidovići municipalities and provide public reports. This activity is part of the project „Strengthening the cooperation between local governments and citizens in the Central BiH region“ implemented by NGO Alterantive Kakanj and financed by SIDA and The Olof Palme International Center.

	Towards a dynamic partnership between local governments and citizens
	NGO „Alternative“ is moving a step further in encouraging the establishment and strengthening of communication between local governments and citizens in Busovača, Kakanj, Travnik and Zavidovići municipalities. „Advanced strategic thinking“ was the theme of the seminar held from June 13 – 15 2008 in Neum. It seminar was aimed at municipal teams for creation of communication strategies in mentioned municipalities.

	Seminar „Communication strategy“
	Three-day seminar Communication strategy was held in Neum from June 13 – 15 2008. The seminar is part of the educational program within the project „Strengthening the cooperation between local governments and citizens of the Central BiH region“ financed by SIDA and Olof aPalme Center and implemented by NGO Alternative from Kakanj.

	How to achieve successful communication with citizens?
	How local governments of Bugojno, Donji Vakuf and Gornji Vakuf / Uskoplje municipalities communicate with citizens as well as what might be improved in their communication were the themes of the workshops held on the last week-end in April 2008, in the Cristall Hall of Bugojno municipality.

	„Alternative“ educate young people about skills of active job searching
	NGO „Alternative“ trainer provided training services to 21 high school students from Kakanj. The training was done through 21 workshops organized as part of the project „Enhancing communication skills and skills of finding suitable employment“ implemented by LERC (Local evangelical development centre).
