On the third working day ISV volunteers are still active on arranging Bukovica excursion site located at the foot of the medieval town of Bobovac in Kakanj municipality.

On July 13 2009 American volunteers (ISV) and NGO „Alternative“ staff cleaned the Bukovica excursion site, located at the foot of the medieval royal town of Bobovac near Kraljeva Sutjeska. It was the first working day for the second group of students – participants of the ISV program.

International Student Volunteers Inc. (ISV) and Kakanj municipality signed an agreement for a voluntary program in Kakanj. In addition to Kakanj municipality, the volunteers will also be hosted by ŠPD ZDK – Šumarstvo Kakanj and NGO „Alternative“ Kakanj.
Intern communication workshop
NGO „Alternative“ Kakanj organized and implemented a three-day seminar on intern communication for teams from Busovača, Kakanj and Zavidovići municipalities. By the end of the year the teams shall create intern communication rules and procedures. This process will be supported through the project „Strengthening the cooperation between local governments and citizens in Central BiH region“ which is financed by the Olof Palme International Center with funds of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

NGO „Alternative“ Kakanj organized and implemented the three-day workshop on communication strategies planning for councillors and representatives of executive governments from Bugojno, Donji Vakuf and Gornji Vakuf / Uskoplje.

Successful implementation of the workshop marked spreading the project „Strengthening the cooperation between local governments and citizens in Central Bih region“ on Doboj Jug, Maglaj and Teslić municipalities. 16 municipalities have so far been involved in the project.
Improving the communication within municipal administration
By creating the intern communication regulations, municipal teams of Busovača and Kakanj intend to improve communication within municipal administrations. We believe these teams will be joined by a team from Zavidovići as well as teams from other municipalities in which NGO „Alternative“ implement projects focused on strengthening the cooperation between local governments and citizens.
