  • Mission statement of the organization

    Women's forum "Alternative" Kakanj is non-governmental organization ready to share its own experience and acquire some new one, in order to present and protect human rights, build tolerance and confidence in the community and build up the role of the youth and women in the society. The "Alternative" are dedicated to the development of both NGO sector and civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
    Forum of women "Alternative" Kakanj is a non-government organization dedicated to development of the civil society in BiH. Our readiness to pass on our knowledge and to acquire new one is our main strenght. Our organization creates good-quality workshops for. Our creativity and experience ensure us position of a successful and acknowledged NGO.

    PRINCIPLES of our activities are:
    We help our BENEFICIARIES to participate in the creation of our projects. An indication of our success is primarily the satisfaction of our beneficiaries with our services. We offer them our experience and best solutions.
    We continuously work on EDUCATION.

    VALUE of our work increases the value of our organization and enables us to conduct our activities freely. Balance of our activities, efficient management systemand consistent realization of projects represent the foundation of our success.
    We encourage our ASSOCIATES and motivate them to achieve top results. Our success begins with our staff. Relationships in our organizations are characterized by mutual respect, clear aims and determined leadership.
    Social responsibility - our contribution to a better world. Our ideas, programs and activities serve to the people, society and environment.
    Relations with our associates, donators, and partners are based on the principles of mutual respect and understanding.

    Women's forum "Alternative" Kakanj is an association of citizens registered on 24.02.1998. in Ministry of justice of Zenica-Doboj canton. Prior to registration the association worked as a non-formal group of citizens.
    There are 6 years of succesful work behind "Alternative" as a registered organization. Since its establishment "Alternative" has been developing into a reliable organization which is becoming recognized and aknowledged in the community and is trying to remain as such in the future. Confidence that people have in us due to our hard work has enabled us to become what we are today: an organization you can trust to.

    Alternative is a member of:
    - "NGO coalition BiH" - presided over by Human rights Helsinki Comitee in BiH
    - "DemNet" - among the first nine members in BiH
    - NGO Coalition "Work and achieve together" - Alternative is a member of the board
    - Presiding of the NGO referent group of Zenica region (Zenica, Kakanj, Visoko, Olovo, Vares, Breza, Zepce).
    - Alternative presided the NGO forum for 2 years and NGO return forum for 4 years.
